91��Ƭ (NPC) is proud to announce that Maderia Ellison, Vice President for Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), has been elected to serve as the president of the National Association of Community College Business Officers (CCBO), representing business and finance professionals from community colleges across the nation.

CCBO is a national network of professionals dedicated to continuing education for business officers to help move community colleges forward through professional development and leadership. The CCBO represents business officers as an Affiliated Council to the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The AACC is highly regarded as a crucial voice and advocate for the nation’s community colleges, representing nearly 1,200 institutions and more than 12 million students.

Over her 18-year tenure with NPC, Ellison has played a pivotal role in furthering the college’s mission and strategic goals. For the last ten years, she has served, first as an interim and currently as NPC’s Vice President for Administrative Services and CFO. Ellison joined the CCBO in 2015 and is a graduate of the organization’s two-year leadership academy. In 2018, she was awarded the Outstanding Chief Business Officer of the Year and was appointed to the CCBO Executive Board the following year. She was nominated to the association’s treasury, where she served for four years. She later took on the role of VP for Regional Services, where she led the drive for membership. In 2024, she served as President-Elect and chaired the organization’s annual conference before stepping into the role as President earlier this year.

As President, Ellison will oversee, with the help of several different committees, the CCBO’s professional development program. Her role will focus on increasing membership, developing partnerships, promoting various award programs, and guiding the association’s budget and financials. Her term as CCBO President concludes in October 2026, with the organization’s Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Ellison said, “I am excited about being the President of the CCBO and increasing partnerships and membership to further the association’s ability to offer essential professional development training. I’m eager to participate in the networking opportunities the position will afford to showcase NPC and represent community colleges in Arizona, particularly those in rural areas.”
