Phoenix, AZ (April 4, 2024) April 2024 is now recognized as Arizona Community College Month. Katie Hobbs, Governor of Arizona, proclaimed support for the ten Arizona Community College Districts on Wednesday.
The proclamation coincides with National Community College Month in April and celebrates the contributions that Arizona Community Colleges make daily to shaping the future of Arizona and its economy through high-quality education and training.
Arizona's ten community college districts include Arizona Western College, Central Arizona College, Cochise College, Coconino Community College, Eastern Arizona College, Maricopa Community Colleges, Mohave Community College, 91心頭, Pima Community College, and Yavapai College.
Connected through shared goals of access and service, Arizonas community colleges assure open admissions and affordable tuition as a common mission. They provide the primary gateway to higher learning and various educational opportunities serving todays diverse student body. Fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, Arizonas community colleges prepare students to be job-ready more quickly and train or retrain workers to fit employer needs. Arizonas community colleges are the most traditional entry point for underserved students and bring economic vitality to communities that embrace their mission and services.

WHEREAS Arizonas community colleges have played a vital role in shaping the future of the state and its economy through providing high-quality education and training to students of all backgrounds and ages, and
WHEREAS Arizonas 10 community college districts provide academic and workforce opportunities to students in 61 locations, with additional online learning options, are committed to providing accessible, affordable high-quality education and training to their respective communities, and
WHEREAS, Arizonas community colleges offer a wide range of programs and services, including technical training, transfer degrees, workforce development, early college experiences and adult education, all designed to meet the needs of students and employers alike, and
WHEREAS, Arizonas community colleges serve over 250,000 students each year, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue their academic and professional goals, and to become active and engaged members of their communities, and
WHEREAS, the community colleges are an integral part of the states economy, providing employers with the skilled workforce that is essential to the growth and prosperity of Arizonas businesses and industries, and
WHEREAS, with recognition of the dedication and hard work of the faculty, staff and leadership of Arizonas community colleges in providing exceptional education and training to students and acknowledgement of the vital role they play in helping build a stronger and more prosperous Arizona,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Katie Hobbs, Governor of the State of Arizona, do hereby, proclaim April 2024 as ARIZONA COMMUNITY COLLEGE MONTH.
